Being the market leader entails responsibilities. These days environmental protection is no longer just a nice-to-have, but rather it must be a matter of course for every company. Environmental protection is and always was an important subject for Josko.
In terms of wood procurement for its windows, Josko gives priority to sustainable regional forestry enterprises, in order to guarantee short transport routes. And speaking of short transport routes ... the commute to work should be kept to a minimum both from a personal point of view and for the sake of the environment. Josko creates jobs in economically underdeveloped regions, where locals are given the appropriate training for the job, which dispenses with long commutes to work. That too makes a contribution to the protection of the environment.
We already invested years ago in an in-house biomass power plant at our Kopfing site to secure clean and reliable energy. The cogeneration system is powered by waste wood from the window production activities as well as from wood chippings from the forestry industry. Thus a part of the company's power requirements are covered by renewable resources.
