Of course not everybody works so intensively with all-glass systems as do we at Josko. Nevertheless it is possible to provide a short account of the most salient points. As a professional organisation we provide you with informative answers to important questions.
Do not make the mistake of comparing on the basis of price alone. The essential differences are to be found elsewhere: in safety, technology, experience and design.
Some fixed glazing systems turn out to be "tinker toy systems". Constructions like this are made up of separately purchased components and are not from a single system. This can result in technical complications and visual defects.
Never rely on verbal assurances in a sales discussion: demand to see test certificates and photos. Check whether the system frame is "warm", i.e. that no (cold) thermal bridges are created through the use of "cold" aluminium or steel profiles.
When you look closely you will soon see that frameless is not always frameless. Even if it is only a narrow strip of aluminium – only the original from Josko is actually internally and externally frameless on all 4 sides.
In the case of FixFrame Blue Vision the components (glass panes, windows, patio doors, sliding doors, front doors, sun-screening solutions) can be perfectly integrated both technically and visually. Depending upon the product many of Josko's elements even sit fully flush.
That's not a problem for FixFrame Blue Vision! Because the patented system enables a replacement from the outside. There is no need to transport the sheets of glass through the internal spaces as is the case with many other systems. Under certain circumstances it might be necessary, when using other systems, to remove the external façade, internal flooring or wall plaster – in the worst case scenario the panes of glass can either not be replaced or can only be replaced at a very high cost.
Others might work to the formula "π x thumb" but Josko leaves nothing to chance. Every FixFrame Blue Vision project starts with a structural pre-survey with its own programme, because Josko is fully aware of the massive challenge to and the responsibilities placed on the glass.
In addition FixFrame has been officially tested by the Independent Institute for Wood Research, Austria to EN standards. For the best structural properties despite harsh conditions.
The desire of many house builders for a seamless transition to balconies or patios, i.e. with no threshold in between, and the demands of freedom of accessibility throw new challenges into our path every day in terms of planning and implementation.
If the drainage isn't perfect in this scenario then water damage is just an accident waiting to happen. Josko have developed their own draining solutions based on ÖNORM (Austrian Standard) B7220, which are not just visually but also functionally perfect.
