9. How important is sun protection?
Very important.
As significant as the gain in solar energy is over large areas of glass in winter, this effect is as dangerous in summer. In the hot summer months a great deal of heat penetrates the house and remains inside due to good insulation. Overheating by up to 30°C is a possibility!
A professional shade system – particularly in bedrooms and children’s rooms – works wonders. Solutions which let in light but screen off heat are ideal. Sun protection should preferably be given consideration as early as the construction stage. For some systems can no longer be installed later.
